Being broke doesn't mean you
cant still have fun
Last night, I was reminded of something truly special.
My sister, her wife, their two kids, my girlfriend, and I gathered together—no one had much money to spend, (shocker)
But the truth is it didn’t matter one bit.
We were all broke, not a penny to scratch our arse with.
And yet what we shared was priceless: laughter, stories, and just being present with one another.
It made me realise that the best moments in life aren’t about what you can buy; they’re about the company you keep.
Sure, it’s nice to be able to give the people you love amazing things, and I can’t wait to do that someday.
But right now, I feel like I am being reminded that some of the most amazing things in life are free.
In Today’s 4-3-2-1:
4 prompts :1 about your past, 2 about present and now, 1 about your future.
3 questions to spark creativity in a world that doesn’t encourage it.
2 affirmations for the week.
1 tool to help with today’s topic.
"Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things."
4 Journal Prompts:
Past Reflection: Think back to when you had very little but experienced a moment of pure joy with loved ones. What made that moment so special?
Example: Maybe it was a simple meal shared with friends or a game night with family. Reflect on how those moments felt.
Present Gratitude: Identify a simple joy you experienced this week that didn’t cost a thing. How did it make you feel?
Example: Perhaps it was a walk in the park, a heartfelt conversation, or just laughing with someone special.
Present Connection: Consider how you can create meaningful moments with your loved ones right now, without spending money. What simple activities can you enjoy together?
Example: Plan a movie night with homemade popcorn, a picnic in the living room, or a storytelling session with your family.
Future Aspiration: Imagine a future where you have more resources. How will you maintain the value of these simple, precious moments even when you can afford more?
Example: Commit to always prioritising time and presence over material gifts, ensuring that the connection remains at the heart of your relationships.
3 Questions to Unleash Creativity:
Experience Creation: What’s a creative, no-cost way to spend quality time with your family this weekend?
Example: Organise a garden campout with tents made from sheets, or cook a meal together using only what’s in your kitchen (GET CRAZY WITH IT)
Creative Connection: How can you make everyday tasks more fun and engaging for your loved ones?
Example: Turn chores into a game or create a family art project using items you already have at home.
Memory Making: How can you document and celebrate these simple moments of joy with your family?
Example: Start a family journal or scrapbook to record these memories, or create a “memory jar” where you write down happy moments to revisit later.
2 Affirmations:
“I am rich in love and connection, and I create meaningful moments with those who matter most.”
“The best things in life are free, and I cherish every moment spent with loved ones.”
1 Tool to start Today
MEMORY JAR
This one isnt really a tool, in fact it was inspired by one of the creative questions, once every week.
Get together with your family with your partners, and write a happy memory from that week.
Reminisce on past memories you have together, like that trip you went on even though you probably shouldn’t have done that. (But thought F%#K it)
Laugh and cry at stories told of times of old.
Me and Sarah are going to implement this from Today.
Stay Unapologetically You, Stay Confident, And Be Kind.
