The P.V.C Rundown… - Why you shouldn’t be so fast to accept failure… - A system on how to track your successes and failures. - A Affirmation to end. (As always) |

‘Failure’ is simply a chance to begin again, this time more intelligently
Why Are We So Quick To “Throw In The Towel”
Hey there, champions of life.
Ever feel like you're just one step away from throwing in the towel? Or maybe you've tripped over your own feet so many times…you just don’t see the light.
Well, fear not, because today we're diving headfirst into the “failure” and flipping it on its head!
Failure what does that word even mean? - By definition, it is a lack of success in achieving YOUR goals.
Just think on that a second… like seriously?
If that is what failure is, and that is what google says…
Then how is it even a tangible thing?
The truth is, it isn’t.
I want you to think of Elon Musk, Henry Ford, Alex Horomozi, and Jeff Bezos’ of the world.
Do you really believe, that they've never known the sting of failure!"
Of course you don’t and if so you are wrong!
Those titans of industry have more flops under their belt
Than anyone.
Let's take a stroll down memory lane, shall we?
Did you know that before Oprah became the queen of talk shows, she was fired from her first TV gig for being "unfit for television"?
Imagine if she'd thrown in the towel after that!
We'd be missing out on a whole lot of "You get a car! You get a car!"
And what about Colonel Sanders?
Before his finger-lickin' good chicken empire took flight, he was rejected over 1,000 times when trying to sell his recipe.
A thousand rejections!
If that doesn't make you want to dust yourself off and try again, I don't know what will.
But here's the kicker – each stumble, every faceplant, it's all just part of the journey.
Because when you refuse to stay down, when you pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and keep on truckin', that's when the magic happens.
That is when you become the person worthy of your goals, your dreams, your ambitions.
Thomas Edison (Perfector of the lightbulb) famously said
“I have never “Failed” I just found 10,000 ways it didnt work.”
In the game of life, let's embrace our mishaps, our blunders, and our belly flops.
Let's turn our "failures" into fuel for our fire, because guess what?
When you see something through
And you refuse to let setbacks define you, it's no longer a failure – it's a lesson.
The day nothing seems to be going right, don’t hate that day or yourself.
Take five minutes to reflect and try and see the lesson in what is happening.
You are welding and its not quite going right… there is probably a different technique you could use.
You are cooking and it hasn’t gone right, even though you have 29 years experience, there is a lesson in there too. (somewhere)
The thing is life comes at us from so many different angles its hard to focus on the stuff that really matters.
The stuff that truly builds our character.
My mentor says this… and it is something I live by.
“There are no such things as problems, only solutions”
When you think about it
Every time you have come across a problem/ or a failure…
Has there actually been a time where you haven’t managed to either solve it or gain more clarity on what it was you were trying to achieve?.
What if you take those wild ideas, those crazy dreams, and run with them like your life depends on it.
Because who knows?
The next time life throws a curveball your way, you just might knock it out of the park.
Here's to “failing” forward, one glorious stumble at a time!
A Quick Way To Channel That Failure The Right Way
Practice Resilience…
1. Acknowledge the Situation: Recognize and accept the reality of the failure or setback without minimizing its impact.
2. Allow Yourself to Feel: Allow yourself to experience and process the emotions associated with the failure, whether it's disappointment, frustration, or sadness.
3. Maintain Perspective: Put the failure into perspective by reminding yourself that setbacks are a normal part of life and don't define your worth or abilities.
4. Seek Support: get someone else’s perspective and see if they can’t help you solve it.
5. Practice Self-Compassion: Be kind and compassionate towards yourself, understanding that everyone makes mistakes and experiences setbacks.
6. Reframe Negative Thoughts: Challenge negative thoughts and self-talk by reframing them in a more positive and realistic light.
7. Focus on What You Can Control: Identify aspects of the situation that are within your control and focus your energy on taking proactive steps towards improvement.
8. Develop Coping Strategies: Implement coping strategies to manage stress and enhance resilience, such as mindfulness meditation, journaling, or physical exercise.
Example of a Coping Strategy:
Let's say you've experienced a significant setback at work, such as not getting a promotion you were hoping for. Your initial reaction might be to feel disappointed and discouraged.
Here's how you could apply this coping strategy:
1. Find a quiet and comfortable space where you won't be disturbed.
2. Sit or lie down in a relaxed position and close your eyes.
3. Take slow, deep breaths, focusing on the sensation of the breath entering and leaving your body.
4. Bring your attention to the present moment, letting go of any thoughts or worries about the past or future.
5. Notice any emotions that arise, allowing yourself to experience them without judgment.
6. Practice self-compassion by offering yourself words of kindness and understanding.
7. Visualize yourself letting go of the disappointment and embracing the opportunity for growth and learning.
8. Continue to breathe deeply and mindfully for a few minutes, then slowly open your eyes and return to the present moment with a sense of calm and resilience.
I know to some this may seem “HOO-HAH” but do what feels right for you.
I love meditation and visualisation.
It is such a powerful tool for me to maintain my focus and flow.
An Affirmation to End
“ I acknowledge that setbacks are not roadblocks but opportunities for growth, redirection and learning. With each failure, I become stronger, wiser, and more resilient.”
