This midweek motivator is a little different..
Have you ever wondered why self-doubt even exists?
Yeah me too.
So I decided to pull a mad hatter and go a little bonkers on this one.

Let’s discover self-doubts and their best friend.

Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will
What it is and Some Of The Ways you might Deal With The A***hole Self-doubt
Self doubt by definition is - the lack of confidence in yourself and your abilities.
You can know exactly who you are and what your purpose is.
But you don’t have confidence in your ability when it comes to tasks to do with that purpose.
The thing with self-doubt because it is such an A-hole we often deal with it unconsciously (without realising)
Here are some ways we might do that from a study by (Braslow, Guerrettaz, Arkin, & Oleson, 2012).
Self handicapping - a deensive strategy, we use to blue the reasons for our mistakes.
Over achievement - We put in extra effort to make sure we are successful in something, however, we still doubt our selves because we don’t know if it was the extra effort that caused the success.
Imposter syndrome - This I have struggled with a lot, doing what I do. The success we achieve isn’t an accurate reflection of our underlying abilities.
“Why did they pick me, there are more experienced people than me.”
Other variables - Someone else’s success is because they had an “Unfair advantage” that you didnt have.
Ego is a funny thing.
If you ever find yourself thinking like that.
Accept it for what it is.
It is not a “failure” but a redirection.
You weren’t meant to get that because something else is coming your way.
Something better. Something only you can do.
This mindset shift has been massive for me and helped me see the world in a different shade of awesome.
You are probably wondering

The three building blocks to to overcome self-doubt positively(According to Shciraldi)
Unconditional self worth - Tell yourself your external factors, other peoples opinions, the money you make does not effect your sense of worth.
Unconditional love - I dont know about you, but when my family give me this and my friends there isnt a better feeling in the world. So try give it to yourself. You are worth it I promise.
Growth and action- If at every chance you get in your busy life, are trying to improve and grow and take action on what you learn.
Your old friend Self doubt isnt going to be able to catch up… (he is Sloooow)
So Practice the thing. Then do the thing.
You only have 10 minutes.
Guess what my friend?
That is 10 minutes better than you were yesterday.
Why You Have Self Doubt!
Believe it or not, Self-doubt isn’t always the bad guy.
It gives us a fall back a shield.
“How can someone like me, achieve something like that.” (so we don’t try, to protect ourselves)
The problem is…
This has the negative effects it was trying to help you avoid.
You then feel like you could’ve done more.
OR
You know you should’ve done more.
And you start beating yourself up with negative thoughts and that in turn increases your self-doubt.
IT effin sucks man.
You know when you feel pulled towards something but the warmth of your comfort zone is too nice to leave?
And god forbid you “Fail” or “suck” at the thing you want to start.
Yeah, that is ”Self-doubts” best friend making an appearance.
Here is a secret…
The greatest people you know.
They sucked at one point too.
They “failed” more times than you can count.
The difference between you and them is minimal
Remember that time
You thought something was going to be awful..
Be it meeting new people, starting a new hobby, starting a new job, that interview.
And you did it anyway?
How did you feel?
Did you feel good? Did you get alittle bit of a thrill?
HECK yeah, you did…
Self-doubts best friend FEAR sucks and can hold you back from you becoming the best version of yourself.
When you do the thing and realise, “damn I have got this”
Those two voices, vanish in that moment.
You are so powerful. So strong.
When you do things to prove that, there isnt a better feeling in the world.
So my advice is to always push that little bit out of your comfort zone. because the warmth you feel when you get 1% better every day,
Is way better than staying stagnant.
So do that thing you have been wanting to do for a while
But self-doubt and fear have been stopping you from starting.
And see how your world and your people truly support it.
BONUS Round and How You Can Be Extra Awesome
This midweek action tip is simple… and consists of 4 steps.
DO
THE
THING!
Journal on how it makes you feel.
That is it.
Your easiest one yet.
This week do it even if it is for 10 minutes a day.
Just start, and write down how it makes you feel.
Perfection isn’t a tangible thing. (if it even exists at all)
What is a perfect day for you, could be the worst day for me.
So in a world of imperfect things and people.
Be perfectly true to yourself and DO THE THING.
Take away what you want from this email.
You are awesome and that thing you have been putting off could seriously change you in ways you didn’t know.
