Spirituality is not religion..!
Let me explain...
HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!
Did your outlook on life change last week? Let me know.
So today, was hard for me to get out of bed.
My brain was exhausted from hearing my own voice over and over.
(More on that at in abit)
Let’s get on to
Today’s email is about balance and what spirituality really is.
I have mixed both the new style and the old style today!
If you wouldn’t be letting me know your thoughts on what you prefer.
The old, the new or the middling.
And as always…
If you take action on the below who knows it might just improve your outlook on life
"Spirituality is not about religion; it is a way of being grounded in a certain experience of reality that is independent of cultural and historical context."
The truth about spirituality
The quote above I believe sums it up perfectly.
It isn’t about..
History.
Religion.
Cultural shifts.
I personally believe in God. But that doesn’t make me any more spiritual than someone who doesn’t.
Spirituality is about embracing oneself for who they are.
It is almost self-awareness.
You know who you are. You know where you want to go, and you use practices like meditation, prayer, or silent walks to gain clarity and ground yourself to that mission.
You don’t have to be a churchgoer to be spiritual.
All you are is balanced and grounded in your approach to yourself and your future.
Let's talk about how the two powerhouse concepts that can transform your life: spirituality and balance.
And the science behind them.
My Favourite Part…SCIENCE
Physical and Mental Well-being:
Picture this: when we strike the perfect balance in our lives and nurture our spiritual selves.
It's like giving ourselves a one-two punch of health and happiness.
Studies have shown that activities like yoga and meditation not only improve balance and coordination but also reduce stress and anxiety.
(Am I saying do yoga, no but if you do you might know the difference here)
Similarly,
Engaging in spiritual practices such as prayer or mindfulness can boost your immune system, lower blood pressure, and enhance our overall mental health.
Resilience and Fulfillment:
Finding balance and connecting with our spirituality isn't just about feeling good in the moment
It's about building resilience and finding deeper meaning in our lives.
Research has revealed that individuals who maintain a sense of balance between work, play, and rest report higher levels of life satisfaction and happiness.
And when we tap into our spiritual selves, we unlock resilience and a purpose that helps us weather life's storms with grace and gratitude.
Empowerment and Success:
Here's the kicker:
When you prioritise balance and spirituality,
You’re not just improving your well-being, you’re setting yourself up for success.
Studies have shown that individuals with better work-life balance are more engaged, productive, and satisfied with their jobs.
And when we cultivate a strong spiritual foundation.
We tap into an abundance of creativity, intuition, and drive that propels us toward our goals with clarity and confidence.
That my friends is the power of balance and spirituality. When you are grounded in your approach to your day/ dreams/ goals, it isnt a matter of “IF” it is a matter of “When”
In my experience, it might not be as fast as you wanted it.
(that is what I am discovering personally)
But stay grounded and trusted in the process.
📃 4 Journal Prompts:
Recall a moment from your childhood that still holds significance for you today. What lessons or insights can you draw from that experience?
Write about a recent encounter with nature or the outdoors. How did it make you feel, and what connections did you sense with the natural world?
Imagine you are interviewing your future self 10 years from now. What advice or wisdom would your future self share with you today?
Reflect on a book, movie, or piece of art that has deeply resonated with you. What themes or messages from that work of art speak to your soul, and why?
💡 3 Questions to Spark Creativity:
If you could have a conversation with any historical figure, who would it be and why? (Abraham lincoln or Napoleon Hill for me) What questions would you ask them, and what insights do you think they would share?
Think of a time when you felt truly inspired or motivated. What factors contributed to that feeling, and how can you recreate it in your life?
Imagine you have a free day with no obligations, the kids were sorted and it was just you. How would you spend it to nourish your mind, body, and soul?
🌟 2 Affirmations:
"I trust in the journey of life, knowing that every experience, whether joyful or challenging, serves to deepen my understanding and growth."
"I am a vessel of light and love, radiating positivity and compassion to myself and others. My presence in the world makes a difference."
That completes today’s email… If you take action on the prompts… who knows it might change your outlook on life.
